Was the vet informed of the info above? When they live with other dogs their appetites can increase, well maybe not their appetites but the stimulus to eat as they have competition for food which will drive them to eat more. If he's eating dry kibble this can be very bad, as overeating kibble then drinking a bunch of water will cause the kibble to expand in the tummy and that can cause a whole host of problems and discomfort.


So glad he's doing better...
