Default Should I retire the bell

I got Lexi in the beginning of April at 13 weeks old. I started potty training her to go outside. It surprisingly only took a week and a couple days after that I got her to start ringing a bell hanging from the door. It was wonderful and she would go to the bell every time. Now that it is finally warming up here in Wisconsin she wants to be outside ALL the time and will ring the bell ALL the time just to go outside. I can never tell if she really needs to go or not. I took the bell off a couple times and she would of course go to the door still and sometimes I would just ignore her if I didn't think she really needed to go. I'm just worried that ignoring her at the door, she will stop going to the door when she needs to go. I know she can hold it for a longer time now that she is 5 months old and I was thinking on taking her on my schedule and teaching her that she goes when I take her out instead. Just wondering if anyone else does this or if it's a bad idea?
