Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I agree with everyone above. Things to consider:
1. Yorkies are high maintenance:vet bills, grooming, and the need for attention. You are entering a very busy period in your life and the demands of a Yorkie may interfere.
Looking ahead, what if you plan to go away to college? Who will take care of the dogs?
2. Yorkie personalities vary, but for the most part they need a lot of activity and many can be high energy. If they don't get the activity they need, this can contribute to being yappy.
3. Yorkies are notorious for being difficult to potty train. Training can be labor and time intensive, and frustrating.
