I totally agree with everything you said. Sometimes I also think people give their opinions on what someone should do and that person may get offended, like their being talked down to, although that is not their intention. And that's where some of the arguments start. The new member then gets defensive and may make some comments that doesn't help the situation. Maybe we just need to find a more positive way to give our opinions. Some people get easily offended and defensive, and there is not much we can do about that.
