And what if you found out she wasn't being taken care of? Legally, she still belongs to that owner and if you chose to keep her because you didn't approve of the circumstances that she was being kept in, you could be charged with a crime.

I understand that you want what is best for the dog and I appreciate that you are taking care of her, but you have to go about this the right way.
