The trick that works for me is that I don't let them know I'm paying attention to them eating, and I don't make a big deal about it if they don't. Sometimes a new foster may go a day without eating, but is chowing down by day 2. I don't know if it's because I don't make a big deal about it, or if they are competing with the other pups for the food, or a combination of both. There are no picky eaters in THIS house lol! Having said that, I must add that I've never had a puppy. So I never had to worry about hypoglycemia. I would probably handle a puppy much more carefully. |
Thanks for your advice! I think he ca feel my stress lol I do pretend to look away but usually sit right next to him. Could be a downfall....I will try ignoring it and see how he does. Again this am he didnt eat but chomped down on dinner. The joys of Yorkie pups 😬
