I have either been very lucky, or tough love really works! I've owned & fostered yorkies for years, and I've never had one that doesn't eat the good quality kibble I offer (currently Earthborn Hollistic). I free feed the kibble, and watch them to make sure they eat. The trick that works for me is that I don't let them know I'm paying attention to them eating, and I don't make a big deal about it if they don't. Sometimes a new foster may go a day without eating, but is chowing down by day 2. I don't know if it's because I don't make a big deal about it, or if they are competing with the other pups for the food, or a combination of both. There are no picky eaters in THIS house lol! Having said that, I must add that I've never had a puppy. So I never had to worry about hypoglycemia. I would probably handle a puppy much more carefully.
