My vet says yes. My pebbles is 7 months and only 2 pounds 1 ounce. I am going to get her weighed again at 7 1/2 months and hopefully she's gotten closer to 3 pounds by then....My vet estimated she won't have first heat to about 8 months old so here's hoping
