Default Worn out from new rescue

I adopted my Buster (who's between 3 & 4 years old) 9 days ago, and I'm so worn out, I want to cry. BUT, before I say anything else, I do want to say that I already love him with all my heart! First two days he was marking everywhere. I do use a belly band when I'm busy, but I want him to use potty pads, so I don't want the band on all the time. He was good about not marking as much after the first two days, but this past weekend was a total regression. Finally last night he used the pads a couple times and, of course, I praised him like crazy.

I'm gone 9 hours a day--have Buster and Kiri my 4 year old rescue who's totally housebroken on potty pads. So I have to get Buster to pee and poop on the pads. He won't poop on them at all!!! He will pee on them some times.
Here are a couple things I have concerns about.
1. How do I get him to poop on the pads? Neither my now deceased Jake had problems and Kiri's good with this too.
2. Should I use a 2 liter bottle for him as like a fire hydrant for the peeing?
3. He lifts his leg usually when he pees and so where are pads are in the kitchen, he's hitting my baseboard and wall. Any ideas on how I can treat the wall so the entire drywall section doesn't become just a big sponge of pee?
I love Buster so much but I'm so exhausted right now I am ready to fall over.
Thanks.
