Looks good to me! When Toki was a puppy, I also fed her the BB puppy kibble and supplemented it with canned food. We didn't go through the cans very quickly so I ended up freezing a lot of it. What I did was I took a 1 tablespoon (1/2 oz) ice cream scoop thing and scooped out an entire can onto a baking sheet to put in the freezer and then transferred the little balls to a baggy. I divided the number of calories per can by the number of tablespoons I got to get the calories in each little portion and wrote that on the freezer baggy. That was helpful in determining how much dry/wet food I needed to use per meal to have a certain number of calories. The frozen wet food balls also made nice little teething treats!
These days I feed Toki mostly canned food and use a kitchen scale to weigh out her portions. It's hard for me to eyeball amounts in the can so I just weigh it...we try to keep her weight down since she has joint issues so I want to be as precise as possible. But if you know that you're going to use 1 can every 2 days, it's not a big deal at all to just eyeball it...you might give slightly more or less per serving but it'll all balance out. |
