The first good sport is the art of obedience training done within the home first, then your backyard. Next is the art of accepting touch all over his wee body, and soft very soft brushing, and accepting nail trimming. Your puppy should have his full set of puppy shots before going out into the wider world.

Building toy drive at home is wonderfull. Get a selection of toys, plush, firmer, harder selections, and mayhap different shapes; and get down on the floor and play with him with his toys. Teach him to focus on you.

Build the foundations of basic obedience, easy walking on the lead, come, leave it, sit, stay, stop and just about any wonderfull sport is open to you and your pup.

Some sports are best done when boney growth plates have closed, and muscle mass has also developed. But there are so many great sports to enjoy with your dog.
