Valentine looks like a Yorkie to me. Congratulations on the new addition to your life!
Coat can be difficult to determine when they are puppies. Yorkie puppy coat is often a little fuzzy and prone to matting. Often it will get better around 6 months of age, but some develop later. My Teddy's coat continued to change in texture up to age 2.
