I live in CT and I always give my dogs both (actually, I give advantix, not frontline - Lyme disease is a big problem here). Flea eggs can live in your carpeting over the winter and your dog can get bitten by mosquitos just going outside for a piddle. So unless your dog NEVER goes outside, I would certainly be giving them both - at least through the warm months.
