OK, Gate off or crate a 3' x 2' area, put pad on back half (so she won't walk through poop to get out and when traffic goes by). Put blanket (Old stinky worn T-shirt) and food, water at front on one side, food towards front again so she wont step in water by gate/pick up point. She should figure it out, if not clean crate and mark a new pad with old pee(push it on wet spot) then after eating put her on pad a few times until she sniffs the pee spot, she should start after that.
Nice thing about the pads is I got a pad holder and put it by rear door, put used pad in it and put Ginger on it a few times and she started using it. We picked her up 5/17 and she started using the back door pad the next day. We crate her when we can't watch her or are doing something that we don't want her getting into. She hates pooping in the crate and will tell us to let her out, goes straight to pad and poops. Shes doing no accidents. I'll be rough housing with her, she break off, prance to the pad and pee or poop or both, come back all proud and pick up where we left off.
If your going to crate her anyway then keep her crated when you can't watch her, it easy to convert over to the other pad or put one out side and she'll know that's the place. Your other dog should be teaching her the ropes once they bond. |
