If you have a dog that can get out of a harness, and some are real good at it. They learn real quick they can back right out of any harness.. They never forget that, could never use any harness on my Bichon. That being said, the only exception is the Buddy Belt, they are very expensive, they last a long time and they have a large adjustment factor. Keno has a size 5 and he is on the first hole, can adjust to larger by 4 additional holes. Keno is a large yorkie and could and does escape from all other harnesses but not the Buddy Belt. Other thing that I did do with my Bichon was attach the harness to her collar when safety was a major concern, walks off property, travel etc. I used a twist type deal that would not let her completely back out and be free. The tie held the harness to the collar, really alot of trouble and probably over kill on my part. But I was and am very careful with my dogs.
