Her skin scabs went away -- now that I write this I wonder if it was the anti biotics or the prescription food Z/D? On another note, the Z/D didn't end up working out for her though -- she began to poop blood and very dark stool many times since my last post. The vet said she has pancreatitis and colitis so after this last time at the vet (3x in a week) I decided to put her on chicken and rice and start to move her back to her original food. So many things and I feel horrible for her I hate to see her in pain or uncomfortable.

Thanks everyone for your help!
Very glad you found out what the culprit was. If it's bacterial, not sure if it has anything to do w/antibiotics or the food...if anything, the antibiotics will help get rid of the bacteria, the good & bad. You might want to supplement w/some Probiotics.
Princess had numerous skin scrapings done & it always came back as bacteria &/or yeast. She would chew & lick her paws excessively. Vet said they can pick it up from just being outside, walking on grass, so I always wash their paws after our daily walks. I also supplement their food w/probiotics, digestive enzymes & krill oil.

As for colitis (inflammation of the large intestines or colon), it's almost always accompanied by mucus-y poopie & bright red blood @ the end. Dark blood, there's something happening in the upper digestive tract. I'm wondering if there's something going on w/her digestive system & she needs further testing?
