Years ago, we adopted an 85 pound adult Airedale who came with a choke chain collar. She wore it all of her life. She rarely pulled. I would never allow any dog to wear one again. You can google the potential negative health side effects that go beyond potential damage to the neck.
I strongly disagree with trainers who believe harnesses train dogs to pull. If choking a dog with a collar is required, then the dog is not really being trained.
