I do a variety of things. Our Wylie is a total wild man and his personality is suited to a puppy / short cut, it's just his "look". Marcel is in full coat. Our girl, Pfeiffer, has a long really FULL body coat, but I trim her face a bit (she refuses to wear a topknot!).
Longer hair is def more maintenance bc of mats/tangles - and it also depends on your kiddo's actual texture too bc some mat up easier than others.
