Is your Yorkie a little closer to you or your wife?
My close friend lives with her mom and her mom is home all day with her Yorkie while my friend is at work. Well she free feeds her Yorkie but her Yorkie won't touch her food until my friend gets home from work
Maybe your Yorkie is going through some separation anxiety when you go to work.
