I have had both. My female was very loving and independent. My boy is ALWAYS by my side. I can always count on him to be there. He is a great protector and lover, very affectionate. I am getting another puppy and wanted another female to replace my girl, but the litter didn't have enough females for me to get one. I took a male instead. But after thinking about it I am glad I changed my mind and getting another boy. My female was my dog until my husband got home then she was his dog. My boy was always mine and only mine. He loved his papa but I was his special person and still am
