The neurologist has warned us about the signs of shunt failure so we are keeping a very close watch and yes, this whole process is frightening but she seems to be coping well so far. Thank you for sharing about your son Calimomma. Sprite will need to continue her seizure meds for now (keppra and phenobarbital), and if she's seizure free for six months then she will be tapered off of them. She also takes prednisone, which is causing her to urinate more frequently and we'll make sure we take her out even more now that she has the shunt. Sprite has been sleeping most of the evening. She wolfed down her supper, cuddled with us for a while and then crashed in her crate. The pain meds make her very sleepy. Thank you all so much for all your support. It really is helping
