To date I've never had a dog hide toys or treats, digging occasionally, but I stop that as soon as it starts. I always start with a no competition/threat attitude with food, toys, whatever, that way if they find something bad I can take it before they get hurt or sick. Same goes for chewing, they know what's theirs and what's mine and from puppy never get chance to chew our things, furniture. Also early on I teach them not to tear up some toys, telling them when I give them to "Take it easy". I guess having started with big dogs made me do this as standard, cause a RidgeBack or Dobie can demolish toys in seconds.

Matter of fact come playtime I sometimes have had to find the mutts ball or toy as they will have forgotten where they left it last, lol.
