Our Heeler, Sig had a favorite vinyl football shed had since a pup, took it to bed with her and brought it out in morning. Well after about 10 years it was in sad shape so I searched and searched for a replacement. One day I found the exact same football in a toy pack at Petco, bought the pack, threw the rest away.
I washed it and gave it to her after sneaking the other one to the trash can. She went into wailing pitiful whine like she was in pain and kept the new football in her mouth for several days whining intermittently. But you could tell she was thrilled, I had told her I'd fixed it when I gave it to her. She knew this phrase as I used it when ever she was sick or hurt or went to the Vet. |
