The neurologist just called and Sprite is coming out of the anesthetic and is up and walking in her crate

she did have some bleeding right at the start so they had to get that stopped before they could continue. They got it controlled and the rest of the surgery went well and took about two hours (plus the extra wait for the bleeding to stop). Apparently her head is really tiny so the shunt is a little big, but they made everything work. She'll be in intensive care at least tonight and tomorrow, and could possibly come home tomorrow night at the very earliest...but it's too soon to know right now. She'll be on antibiotics and crate rest for at least a couple of weeks until she's healed. I'm very relieved she's made it through so far. The neurologist is going to send me a short video of her for comfort. And now I'm going to take a deep breathe....I feel like I've been holding it all day!
