This is excellent advise and I think it is the answer. You don't get a second chance to have a first impression.

but it could.
The job and whats expected has to be a part of it. One could have a job with a trucking company that pays twice that of one where one has to dress in a more conservative manner and all I can say is one has to judge the job they are applying for at the moment. You seem to be doing that.
