Yes the balls work. I have the yellow as seen on tv ones. I have 6 in use at a time. The only thing I think doesn't do well is fleece. All else works great! I didn't like the harder type of balls like the hedgehog and the wool made me itchy! I got my dryer balls at bed bath and beyond.
