Oh my she is such a beautiful girl! A long coat would be SO much work though and if it's thick to boot - I understand why you cut it. I keep Sophie's hair semi-short since her hair isn't super thick and it's very manageable. She lucked out with having a nice coat that doesn't mat very easily. She still gets daily brushings though.
Oh I've seen the Hurrta coat before but like you, I thought of how it could potentially ruin her BB's. The harness vest seems like the perfect solution though I'm wondering how heavy it is once wet, too.
