I have both cotton coat and silky... I much prefer the cotton. You can still keep your pup long but will need to do more grooming than you would with the silky coat. Plus if you keep the hair under the pit area, between the legs and under belly cut short possibly even shaved it wont mat. I keep my cotton coat in a modified schnauzer cut. She has a long skirt but I shave her back & neck like a schnauzer. Keeping her skirt and head done in a Yorkie style. Love it !!
