Welcome to this great forum....you will be presented with much opportunity to learn sooooo much about every aspect of the care and nurturing and training of your baby! I agree with the books named by "Verbena"....these are also my very favorites and I have been recommending them to all my new owners for many years. Your hallway set up should be fine as far as size and area is concerned. I also like x-pens for puppies, simply because I have had babies amuse themselves by tearing the wll paper off my bathroom wall, scratching and clawing on the sheetrock, chewing on the baseboards, and when confined to the kitchen, were diligent about chewing up my custom made cabinets! Keeping them in an x-pen, positioned away from walls and cabinets and baseboards, prevents some of these disappointments and expenses of a baby amusing themselves for a period of time! Congratulations on your baby!
