Bunny poop and bird droppings are their favorites. I've been told that these are potential carriers of Lepto, so I discourage the licking and eating. They know when I say "icky!" that they need to move along or they are going to get a helicopter ride in their harness away from the offensive material.
Oh my goodness, I'm sorry but the bolded bit made me laugh so hard I almost spit out my tea!
I had no idea about the Lepto in bird and rabbit poo. I have house bunnies and very rarely will Jenna find a stray bb lying on the floor and grab it before I can reach it. I usually find it under her tongue but I give her a strong "no!" and she knows I mean it. But both my dogs like to find grouse poo (I guess because it's mostly berries and must smell sweet) and I have a time getting it out of Ebon's mouth. (She is obnoxious about anything she can swipe off the ground, not just poop, probably because we think she's part border collie and is hard to get through to.)
Thank you very much for the heads up! I'll be even more vigilant.
