The hair coming out if the ear canal itself should be pulled. It comes off easily w/your fingers. All the other hairs inside the ear needs to be trimmed w/clippers or blunt nosed scissors bc those hurt when pulled.
Some Yorkies do not need their ear hair pulled @ all, but some do, esp the ones w/ a lot of hair coming out of them...to prevent ear infections. During a bath, the long ear hair will act like a wick & draw in water into the ear canal. Water inside the ear canal is a problem bc it can cause ear infections. Cleaning their ear once a week during their bath w/ a ear cleaner w/ a drying agent is a good idea too. |
