Using a collar with a small breed dog is asking for collapsing trachea which has no cure. You can use a collar for tags but only tags and use a harness when hooked to the leash. My moms rescue who came to them having used a collar for 6 years now has ct and has to have medicine twice a day. My yorkie who I used a collar with for the first month or two not knowing any better has mild ct and has had to go on medication for it off and on. I can't help but think the collar had to do with it.
