Like I said, dogs do sometimes get away from the best of owners. No one will ever convince me that this man needed to take a rock and smash the head of a ten pound dog.

Yes, the situation could have been avoided if the postman had turned and walked or ran away. That ten pound dog was not going to kill him. I have heard much worse stories about dogs and postal workers and never heard of one using a rock in such a manner. Brutal....that is what it was....BRUTAL and disgusting. I don't care if I was there or not. I don't know how the Postal Service trains their employees, but I will bet my last nickel they are not told to do something like that.

I will follow this case to see what the outcome is.
