Yes, this is very normal. My vet told me these should be plucked out, but some people on here will probably say it is not necessary unless these is an issue like an ear infection. My Maltese/Yorkie mix had an ear infection that I didn't catch right away because of all the hair in the ears I couldn't see all the black crusty stuff in there. Once I plucked the hair out I could see there was a problem and took her to the vet to get checked out.
