Hang in there...and give it some more time...they *will* adjust. I remember when I first got Marcel, and my Wylie was become SUPER needy and was quite anxious. After a couple months, they were buddies and all was settled down. Just give Maxwell lots of attention, love, and make sure you respect the pecking order (ie, giving him his treat first, puppy second etc).
