If he is small and you can feel his ribs or backbone, he may only nibble and not eat a lot a one time. My Tiffany is like that, she weighs 1.9 lb at 8 months. Just nibbles her food. I say as long as they are healthy and you are not having low blood sugar problems everything will be okay. Just make sure you are giving him food that has lots of nutrients in it and not filler.
