I understand that CKC will register anything, I think thats what has been said, but I have noticed a lot of people who have AKC dogs moving over to CKC. They don't have limited registration either. Why so? I have seen, locally, a ton of dogs in puppy shops that are AKC. I also have known of people who paper hang their pups with the AKC, so now they have mixed breeds registered. I don't know, I was just curious to know why AKC is considered the Best. I know its been around for a while but I have seen just as many bad things in it as CKC or ACA. |
If you are talking about CKC as in continental kennel club, then yes, they are bogus registries. (ACA and APRI are as well)
AKC does not allow mixed breed dogs to be registered for confirmation events.
ACA, APRI and CKC do not require any kind of "proof" that a dog is pure bred. They don't even require proof that your dog is a dog. I have a breeder friend who registered her coffee table as a Great Dane, just to show potential buyers that she could. They never asked for proof, pictures, or other records. They took her at her word, and the word of 2 "witnesses".
You certainly won't find AKC doing that. And while AKC has its issues, I would trust an AKC registration before I would even consider the other 3. (There are others as well)
You get what you pay for, and there's a reason those puppies with ACA papers are only $300.00.
