I see a vet derm and have tried Benadryl, Zyrtec, Chlor Trimetron, and Claritin....none of which worked very well. In my experience w/ allergy dogs here at YT, it seems like these OTC meds work in like 10% of cases, unforch.

If you're to the point where you're having to cover up the dog (clothes, socks etc), it really is affecting quality of life, and I'd pursue treatment until you find the solution. Beyond the OTCs, the choices are Atopica, Apoquel, Steroids, Temaril P, and allergy shots/desensitization. Read more about allergies here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html

Dog allergies really do stink - they're so complicated and tough to treat, but you *will* get there eventually.
