Yorkies are notorious for retaining baby milk teeth. Whatever hasn't fallen out needs to be removed by the vet under anesthesia. This is usually done during the pup's spay/neuter surgery so they don't need to go under twice. If not removed, the retained baby teeth catches food particles between the teeth, causes odor & eventually tooth decay.

Momo had double rows of teeth on top like jaws & he had 11+ removed! Playing tug of war also helps the teeth fall out if your pup likes that activity, it worked for us. I was playing tug of war w/Turbo w/his fav toy & a tooth just fell out as he was doing the killer shake.
