5lbs is a small dog of course but not super fragile by any means. My friends 4lb and 5lb yorkies hike 4 miles with us easily, walk in pet stores, walk around town, etc. They are also outdoor potty trained.
Yorkies are 'supposed' to be 7lbs or less. That would mean almost all yorkies should hardly step foot outside if that's the case lol! And that would be sooo sad. I know so many little yorkies who love their outside time, running around the yard, just like any other dog.
