Ha ha, enjoy it while you can! I took in a little Yorkie and he didn't bark for months, I think he had to feel comfortable and safe before he felt like he could bark. In his previous home, barking had been a huge no no and while it can get annoying, I do believe that a dog should have some bark time. Anyway, in time he was able to bark with the best of them, but now he's rewarded for "good quiet." If your dog had been "debarked", you would hear an odd noise when he tried to bark, it doesn't stop the urge to bark.
