Our Bella came back the same afternoon. She was very sleepy and lethargic, but she was her normal perky self by the next morning. You must keep Gabby from doing any jumping or strenuous activity until after her stitches come out (usually two weeks after surgery). Brief potty walks are fine. You must also keep her from licking or biting at her stitches and incision until after the stitches are removed--that may require the use of an e-collar or a onesie. The vet will probably give you a pain reliever to give to Gabby--use it as directed. Look at the incision site every day. If you see signs of increased swelling or redness, take her back to see the vet ASAP. Good luck!
