I'm a groomer and yes of course you can bathe your yorkie between visits to your groomer. Yorkies get pretty stinky. I don't think I would wait a month. If your dog gets matted and you bathe him without brushing out the mats you could make it worse. Maybe that's what the groomer was worried about. Go ahead and bathe your dog as often as necessary just don't forget to brush him as well.
