You can't give in. Cookie cried the saddest cry her first night, but I didn't budge even though every ounce of me wanted to just pick up and hold this beautiful pup that I love so much. But she is great sleeping in her cage now, and has been since the second night. There is no way she will ever sleep in bed with me, as when I was a kid our pug got trapped under the blanket with my brother and died when he was sleeping. Just not a chance I'm ever going to take. The guilt he had looked so crushing even though we constantly told him it wasn't his fault and we know how much he loved little Pugs.
