Finicky eater I have a 2 year old female yorkie, not yet spayed who weighs about 5lbs. She is long legged and very slender. She's a very finicky eater. I have a few other yorkies all spayed who eat more than they should and I am always watching their diets. I cook for her and try to give her eggs and rice and chicken and she eats a bit and then turns up her nose. She also hunches one of the other spayed females. She is not due to come into heat for a couple more months and not swollen. She has lost a few ounces in the last couple of months. Her lab work a few months ago was normal. I am going to have her spayed just have not gotten to it yet. My vet thought I should consider breeding her. She is of very nice quality. But I am just not up for it with all the worries that go along with it. My question is if I spay her would that improve her appetite? Could she have some sort of low level infection or hormonal thing going on that would cause her to act the way she does and not to want to eat? Her bones are not sticking out but I think she should put on at least 1/2 a pound. any advice would be appreciated.
