He has to eat from a plate, 'his plate', very flat and cream in colour to show off his food to it's best advantage....oh, and his drinking bowl matches, too....

LOL! Max had the same problem with seeing the monster reflected in the bottom of the stainless steel.

He is also afraid of the dishes jumping out at him. The boys eat in the narrow passage between the kitchen peninsula and a wall. One boy on each side. Once Max is done, he tiptoes around the dishes giving them wide berth.
