My 2 yorkies love being groomed at home and at the groomer. I take them once a month but also bathe them myself in-between. They love the dryer! There is some great shampoo you can get if u are worried about drying out their skin. I use a tea tree oil shampoo which is delightful! I think your groomer is worried u won't return.
