For people, silicone is bad. It seals the hair, so moisture can't get in. That's why a clarifying shampoo should be used to strip the silicone off your hair, otherwise you're left w/dry brittle hair.
They do have clarifying shampoos for pets too, CC, Pet Silk, IOD makes nice ones. Kristin, does Vellus have one too?
