It is vital you are weighing those babies at least twice a day, before they nurse....If they are not gaining weight, they are not getting enough nourishment. I strongly suggest you start tube feeding them until they can get caught up....if you start now, before they start declining, you should only have to do this for a week or so.....every 2 hours, around the clock. The formula I use and recommend is here on the forum......Just Born, raw egg yolk, pedialyte, Dr.Miller's Nutra Drops, and yogurt with live cultures....when you use this formula, it delivers 14-16 cal per cc, and you feed 1cc/oz of body weight.....they need the calories to thrive. Especially with preemies, or any baby with a weak gag/suck reflex, it is too easy for them to aspirate if fed with a bottle or syringe....it is much safer and more accurate to tube feed.
