Boarding at the vet works better for us too. I have used a camp Bow Wow type of boarding facility and Macy gets too stressed out being around other dogs all the time. There is so much going on at the vets, my dogs don't get bored and get attention from everyone that goes by their area. I request the big dog runs and they have plenty of room to walk around.

My vet does not have someone there 24 hours so I was concerned about something happening at night like fire, tornado or someone just breaking in .....so I asked them......if they have a smoke/fire/security alarm, if they are sprinkled in the boarding area, what they do in case of a tornado at night and no one is at the vet's office. They answered all my questions and didn't make me feel stupid for asking.

One more thing, I take the staff a small gift when I pick up my dogs. I try to pick some type of food item everyone can enjoy and you will be amazed how thankful they are.
